Terms of Service

By accessing or using NEL Professional ("the Platform"), including the NEL VEIL security scanner, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

NEL Professional is a marketplace connecting businesses with verified cybersecurity professionals. NEL VEIL is a passive, non-intrusive security scanner that analyzes only publicly accessible information.

NEL VEIL is a passive, non-intrusive scanner that only analyzes publicly accessible information : the same data any web browser, search engine, or DNS lookup tool can access. Specifically:

• We do not attempt logins, brute-force passwords, or access authenticated areas.
• We do not exploit vulnerabilities, inject payloads, or modify any data.
• We do not access private systems, internal networks, or restricted resources.
• We do not store sensitive credentials or personal data beyond what is necessary for scan delivery.
• All checks are performed against public DNS records, HTTP response headers, SSL/TLS certificates, and publicly exposed ports.

This is a public-surface assessment, not a penetration test. Our scanning methods comply with standard responsible disclosure practices and are considered lawful passive reconnaissance in all jurisdictions. The information gathered is no different from what any user could obtain by visiting a website in a standard web browser.

You may use NEL VEIL to scan domains you own or have explicit authorization to assess. You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Platform.
• Use scan results to harass, defame, or cause harm to third parties.
• Resell or redistribute scan results without authorization.

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. NEL Professional, its operators, and its developer(s) shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the Platform.

Scan results are informational only and do not constitute professional security advice. Users are responsible for independently verifying findings and engaging qualified professionals for remediation.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless NEL Professional, its officers, directors, employees, agents, contractors, and its developers : including all current and former contributors to the NEL VEIL platform : from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

The NEL VEIL scanner, its scanning modules, heatmap visualization, compliance engine, and associated backend infrastructure were engineered and developed by the NEL Pro development team. All intellectual property rights relating to the original engineering and development of the NEL VEIL scanner are acknowledged and preserved.

Unauthorized copying, modification, distribution, or creation of derivative works without proper attribution and authorization is prohibited.

The developers and technical contributors of the NEL VEIL scanner act in the capacity of independent contractors and technical contributors. No developer shall be held personally liable for any business decisions, operational changes, content modifications, commercial activities, data breaches caused by third-party modifications, or misuse of the platform conducted by NEL Professional, its management, affiliates, or end users after delivery. Developer liability is strictly limited to the technical scope of work performed. Any claims, legal actions, or disputes directed at developers personally for matters outside the technical scope of the NEL VEIL scanner are expressly disclaimed and waived by all parties using this platform.

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with applicable law. Each party shall bear its own costs unless otherwise ordered.

These Terms apply worldwide and govern the use of the Platform regardless of the user's jurisdiction. By using the Platform, you agree that:

• All scanning performed by NEL VEIL constitutes lawful, passive reconnaissance of publicly accessible information only : equivalent to viewing a website in a browser or querying public DNS records.
• No laws are violated by the operation of this service, as it does not access, modify, or interfere with any private systems, data, or services.
• NEL Professional, its operators, and the developers of NEL VEIL shall not be subject to criminal or civil liability in any jurisdiction for the operation of a passive, non-intrusive, publicly accessible security assessment tool.
• Users who submit domains for scanning represent and warrant that they have the right to assess the publicly visible security posture of those domains.

NEL Professional reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
